I created this website to serve as simple hub for the various spokes of my life and the content I publish. 

Professionally, I'm the founder of Beach Street Legal LLC, a law firm and compliance consultancy for entrepreneurial investment advisers and financial planners. Personally, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family outdoors - preferably in and around mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, beaches, and trails in between. But my back yard will do just fine. 

My attempt to balance being a husband, dad, business owner, and outdoors enthusiast is the genesis of back40.lawyer.

From an etymological perspective, the term "back 40" refers to the most remote plot of a farmer's land. In modern parlance, it generally means any remote area of natural land to which someone can get away to enjoy the stillness of nature. You've probably heard it in a country song.

And for those that are curious, the background picture above is taken from Lower Bucks Lake in Plumas National Forest in the Northern California Sierras (a great camping spot for those that find themselves in that neck of the woods).

Though bare bones for now, I hope to eventually build out this website as time permits. For now, I've included a few links of interest below.
